Dear Reader!
Greetings and Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Indian Magazine of Dance and Expressive Arts Therapies which has been jointly brought out by Artsphere (Pune) and CMTAI (Creative Movement Therapy Association of India).
The Artsphere team headed by Anubha Doshi, Aarohi Doshi Shah and Mugdha Shivapurkar have done an excellent job of collating together articles, research papers, excerpts from CMTAI’s conference presentations, personal experiences of movement therapy, a book review, interviews with therapists and a list of upcoming events for 2019.
This E-magazine, am proud to say is the first of its kind in the Indian sub-continent. It explores various approaches used in dance movement therapy and the other arts therapies as well. Needless to say that there is a major lack of literature in this field in India. We hope this magazine will reach students and practitioners far and wide, for them to perceive the evolving theoretical and practical precepts of this amazing discipline.
We owe much gratitude to all the therapists who have taken time off to share their knowledge and wisdom to enrich this magazine. We hope this will also inspire more arts therapy practitioners to document their work and send us articles for the future editions of the magazine.
I request you dear reader to share this E-magazine with your circle of contacts. Let’s all together expand the community of Dance and Creative Arts Therapists and broaden the scope and application of this discipline as it journeys across urban-rural as well as socio-cultural divides in our country.
